Melbourne | Claude Impact Lab
The Claude Impact Lab is back in Melbourne. One day. Real civic data. AI tools that actually matter. 📅 Saturday 14 November 2026 · 9:00am to 4:00pm 📍 Inspire9, Richmond VIC (opposite Richmond station, full address shared with registered guests) 🎟️ Free to attend. Register on Luma, places are approved by the organisers. --- WHAT IS A CLAUDE IMPACT LAB? A one-day hackathon where teams partner with local government and nonprofits to build AI-powered tools that solve real problems in their city. Melbourne hosted the first Impact Lab in the Southern Hemisphere in May 2026, with teams building on transport, planning, public safety and council data. This is the second run, and we're going again with what we learned. The problem in Melbourne isn't data. It's accessibility. Information is buried in PDFs, locked in portals and siloed across systems that were never designed to talk to each other. The Impact Lab is where builders prove what's possible when you point Claude at real civic challenges in a single day. --- HOW THE DAY RUNS 9:00 Doors, coffee, team formation Morning: briefs, data walkthrough, build Afternoon: build, demos, judging 4:00 Wrap Come solo or with a team of up to four. If you register as an individual we'll help you find a team on the day. --- WHAT YOU GET Claude API credits for every participant to build with on the day Mentors on the floor and a judging panel A room full of developers, designers, civic hackers and domain experts The best builds get showcased to the organisations they were built for --- WHO SHOULD COME Developers and engineers, data scientists and analysts, designers and UX people, public servants and council staff, community organisers and nonprofit workers, students and new grads.
